What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is a pleasant and relaxing state of focused attention, where beneficial suggestions can be given directly to the subconscious mind, enabling you to make positive changes. It is a science-based technique that involves learning how to use your mind and thoughts to regulate emotional distress, unpleasant, physical symptoms, or break unwanted habits.

Can anyone be hypnotized?

Yes! While it’s true that some people are more hypnotizable than others, anyone with the right attitude and motivation can enjoy the benefits of hypnosis.

Is hypnotherapy safe?

Yes. Despite what you’ve seen in movies, hypnosis has nothing to do with mind-control or brainwashing. During hypnosis, you are awake, aware, and in control, and you will hear and remember everything that the hypnotherapist says.

How many sessions do you recommend?

Most of my clients experience benefits after just one visit. Research shows that a single-session intervention can lead to significant improvements.

It also shows that those results are stronger with multiple sessions. I encourage my clients to return for reinforcement and encouragement sessions, whenever they feel the support would be beneficial.

Is there scientific evidence that hypnosis works?

Yes. Hypnosis has been the subject of rigorous scientific studies that have established and explained it’s effectiveness.

Hypnotherapy is now available at some of the most esteemed hospitals in the country, including UCLA, Mayo clinic, Stanford Hospital, Cleveland clinic, and many others.

What happens to your brain while you’re hypnotized? 

Researchers at Stanford School of Medicine found changes in three brain areas during hypnosis.

First, they saw a decrease in activity in the dorsal anterior cingulate.

Secondly, they saw an increase in connections between the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and the insula.

Lastly, they observed reduced connections between the dorsal lateral prefrontal cortex and the default mode network, which includes the medial, prefrontal, and posterior cingulate cortex.

These critical brain areas are associated with attention, emotion, empathy, memory, decision-making, and body function.

Is hypnotherapy the same as psychotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is not psychotherapy. Psychotherapy is the diagnosis and conversational treatment of emotional and mental disorders. 

Hypnotherapy is the use of relaxation and suggestion to adjust habits of thought, feelings, and behavior .

Should I use hypnosis in place of seeing my doctor or therapist?

Hypnosis is considered complementary and is not a substitute for traditional medical care counseling.

We do not diagnose, prescribe, or treat medical or psychological disorders.

Will hypnosis work for me?

Most clients achieve their goals because we limit our practice to motivated people.

Three elements will make hypnosis effective for you:

Motivation, belief, and expectation.

Motivation means wanting something. 

Next, you must believe that it is possible to reach your goal. 

Finally, you must expect that change will occur. 

Hypnosis is less effective for those who are unmotivated or unwilling to commit to the process.

Will insurance cover the cost of my sessions?

No. Hypnotherapy is not covered by health insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid.

However, you can use your Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account to pay for your sessions.

What is your cancellation policy?

Once scheduled, your appointment time is reserved specifically for you. 

My full fee of $175 is charged for appointments canceled or rescheduled within 48-hour notice.

No-shows will ALSO be billed my full fee.

No exceptions.

How do video sessions work?

You can book a one-on-one video session from the comfort of your home.

At the time of your appointment, simply join the live video call from the link in your email.

It’s important that you have a private, quiet place to relax during the call.

Do you work with children?

Yes. We work with adults, teens and children.

Those under 18 are required to have a parent or legal guardian accompany them to their appointment.
